フィリピンのトランプって言われているドゥテルテ
アメリカ大統領選挙でクリントン氏とトランプ氏が世界中の注目。過激な発言をするトランプ氏、そして２０１６年５月１０日投開票が行われ未だに集計中のフィリピン大統領選挙。こちらは当選確実となったロドリゴ・ドゥテルテ新大統領、かれも過激な発言から「フィリピンのトランプ」と揶揄されている。なんとなく面白おかしく報じているだけ。
私設処刑団を使って犯罪者を消し、治安を良くした実績があるという部分ばかりを採り上げて報道されている。暴言を吐き、その後すぐに撤回するなどWeak pointだけ注目するマスコミの報道。フィリピンのマスコミと日本のマスコミは報道の観点が若干ズレているように思える。
犯罪を減らし、汚職を撲滅させる公約
厳しく弾圧することで治安維持する、規律を守るように市民を導く行為。ただ押さえつけられれば反発を買うのも事実だ。フィリピン人は国の歴史からも、スペイン、アメリカ、日本の統治下に置かれたためなのか、個人的意見だが意外と強い物には逆らわないという性格があるように思う。
ＣＮＮニュースによれば、フィリピン南部に位置する地元のダバオで勝利宣言したドゥテルテ氏は「私は独裁者になる。そこに疑いの余地はない。ただしそれは犯罪や薬物、政府内の汚職
といった悪徳に対峙（たいじ）する独裁者だ」と語った。その上で「警察、軍隊、閣僚を含むすべての公務員に告ぐ。（汚職を）直ちに止めよ」と呼びかけた。

国際的データを並べて比較すると、アメリカのニューヨークでさえ安全とは言えず、東京は超安全な都市であることがわかる。そしてマニラって危険なんだな～ということもデータで裏付けた。
